Dear TUPS Community,
After visiting several classrooms throughout the Township of Union Public Schools and observing elevated temperatures and high humidity levels, along with forecasts indicating continued extreme conditions tomorrow and little opportunity for classrooms to cool overnight, the District has decided to implement an early dismissal schedule on Friday, June 12th, as a precautionary measure to ensure the health, safety, and comfort of our students and staff.
All schools will follow their regular early dismissal schedules. Families are encouraged to check the school-specific dismissal times and transportation information that will be communicated by building principals. Instruction will be focused on the morning when temperatures are expected to be lower, while non-essential afternoon activities will be postponed or rescheduled for a later date. Staff members are asked to closely monitor students for signs of heat-related illness and to encourage frequent water breaks throughout the day.
We understand that schedule changes can be challenging for families, and we appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we take these precautionary measures. Please make arrangements for your child’s supervision following early dismissal on Friday. If you have questions about dismissal procedures, aftercare, or transportation, feel free to contact your child’s school.

Middle Schools: 11:48 AM
Jefferson: 12:20 PM
Elementary Schools & Pre-K: 1:00 PM
Please note the following important information:
Lunch will not be served on early dismissal days.
All after-school activities, athletics, and evening events are canceled.
Transportation will correspond with each school’s early dismissal time.
